The word ‘family‘ is frequently referred to when pupils, staff and parents talk about The Mall. We are small enough to know every pupil and their family individually, cultivating meaningful and authentic relationships. Yet, we show greatness in all we do in the classroom, through our high-end resources, our pupil’s sense of ambition and our school’s emphasis on personal growth. We enjoy excellence at every turn.
Year 1 are learning about Christianity in their RE lessons this term, including the key features of a church. The class were kindly welcomed to St Michael’s Church in Fulwell to take part in lots of interactive activities and the pupils had many opportunities to ask questions about the church. This gave the pupils a sense of independence, as they were able to document the features of a church on their checklist.

Book week is a firm favourite for many children and staff, and it has been wonderful to see the pupils getting involved in the week’s activities. Reading is a real strength at The Mall and this week’s events only add to our commitment to literature.📚
It was lovely to see the children and staff enjoying their book character dress-up day today and there were some fantastic costumes on display. Well done to all!👏
Reading is such an influential aspect of a child’s development – escaping to other worlds, developing language, acquiring knowledge or simply learning to take time out. It brings children ever closer to how humans think and feel.
