Harvest Festival

7th October 24

students and teacher at a harvest festival

Thank you to everyone for donating to our Harvest Festival last week. We are very thankful and have now passed on the donations to Richmond Foodbank to support those in need.

Reception and Year 1 gave a fantastic assembly last Friday to highlight the importance of the Harvest Festival and why we should try to eat the food we have, even if we do not like it. The children performed a range of songs, and even a rap about vegetables. The children showed such great confidence when singing and speaking in front of the rest of the school and their parents.

Mr Gosden reiterated the importance of not letting food go to waste and trying the things we don’t usually like by hosting a round of Ready, Steady, Cook. This was an exciting start to the day for the children, as they saw Mr Fair and Mr Box compete to make the best salad. The children understood that it is important not to waste food and to give back to others in the community.

Our pupils have loved getting involved with our assemblies this term and it was incredible to see how well our youngest pupils performed in front of an audience and spread such joy.
