Year 3 to 6 Summer Prom

The theatre was packed to the gunnels for our last big concert of the year – The Summer Prom.
An enthusiastic audience was wonderfully entertained by the ten different ensembles that rehearse every week in school. We had a brilliant performance from the rock band to start with (‘Since you’ve been gone’ and ‘Seven Nation Army’) and then three recorder groups, two choirs, the samba band and a group of Year 6 drummers.
Finally, the string orchestra and the wind band brought the evening to a close with rousing renditions of ‘Jupiter’ from Holst’s Planets Suite and ‘The Raiders’ Theme’ from the Indiana Jones film ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’. Our full orchestra numbered 31 children with full string, woodwind, brass and percussion sections.
Well done to all our performers for a great evening’s entertainment.
