Science Lab at The Mall School

Exams

Exams at The Mall are part of the process of finding out what a child knows and what we need to teach them in order for them to progress. At The Mall we use a range of testing materials and make regular contact with parents and guardians to inform them of their child’s progress, from Reception to Year 6.

Our exams include paper based tests as well as online testing to prepare for future schools. Children in Reception class take Baseline tests and our standardised testing (INCAS) starts in Year 1 and continues to Year 6. The tests take place in the autumn term of every academic year. Throughout the school year, pupils in Year 2-6 also take termly standardised online tests (Renaissance Learning) in literacy and numeracy, this helps inform teachers’ planning and support and helps parents to understand a measure of their child’s progress at more regular intervals.
