Admission to The Mall School is normally at Reception. We also admit boys into Year 3 depending on assessment and availability. Places in other year groups are occasionally available. Entry to The Mall after Reception is based on an assessment. Please contact me, Ms Alex Penny, for more information: firstname.lastname@example.org or 020 8977 2523.
Reception Entry 4+
Admission at the age of 4 is non-selective. Two classes join The Mall Pre-Prep (also known as Mall Infants) Reception classes each September and will automatically transfer through the school until they leave at the age of 13. As we are often fully subscribed, it is advisable to register as early as possible. A place will be reserved when you register unless we are full at that stage in which case we will operate a waiting list. Formal offers are made in February the year prior to that of entry (i.e. formal offers will be made in February 2018 for September 2019 entry). At that point, you will be offered a short window in which to accept formally and pay a deposit. We would always recommend a tour and meeting with the Headmaster before this stage.
We do currently have a limited number of places for entry into Reception in September 2017. These will be offered on a first-come-first-served basis in order of receipt of registration form and fee. For more information please email email@example.com or telephone 020 8614 1082.
Year 3 Entry (7+)
From September 2017 we are expanding our provision at Year 3 from two to three classes. This is an exciting development for The Mall and we are delighted that more boys will be able to experience the opportunities on offer here from Year 3, whilst still benefitting from the small classes and excellent teaching that contributes so much in preparing them for their senior schools. This means we do have limited places still available, subject to assessment, for entry into the school at 7+ for September 2017.
The assessment includes time in the classroom and playground, as well as sitting short tests in English and Mathematics. Successful candidates will be offered places within a few days of assessment at which point a deposit to secure the place will be requested.
There are limited financial bursaries available for entry at 7+ to help those who would not otherwise be able to afford a Mall School education for their sons. Assistance is means-tested and applications are dealt with in confidence. Again, we would always recommend a tour and meeting with the Headmaster before a boy sits an assessment.
Open Mornings and tours
We would like to invite all parents considering The Mall School to come and see our facilities and meet the team. We hold regular Open Mornings so you can get a genuine feel for the school.
If you are unable to attend an Open Morning, please contact us to organise a personal tour of the school and to meet the Headmaster prior to registering. Boys are accepted on the understanding that they will take the Common Entrance or Scholarship exam to their senior school at the age of 13.
